Pair claim Aielland Guys restaurant had unsafe stairway

Slip01

PITTSBURGH — A former married couple's lawsuit against restaurant owner Aielland Guys LLC and restaurant operator Shelly Pie LLC, alleges negligence, liability and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Colleen Medlin and Kenneth Medlin filed a complaint on Nov. 30 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging that they constructed their stairway that does not follow the uniform construction code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 28, 2015, Colleen Medlin fell backward after slipping on wet stairs, causing serious injuries. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to have a safe stairway, which created the circumstances leading to the fall.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $35,000. They are represented by John Linkosky of John Linkosky & Assoc. in Carnegie.
