Doylestown woman alleges injurious fall in hospital parking lot

Courtscales0637

PHILADELPHIA – A Doylestown woman’s legal complaint says she was seriously injured due to a pair of business entities not arranging for ice and snow to be removed from the parking lot at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norristown.

Eileen Duffy filed the lawsuit on Jan. 17 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, versus Brickman Group, LLC of Rockville, Md. and AJR Environmental, Inc. of Lansdale.

“On or about March 5, 2015, plaintiff was lawfully walking in the parking lot at Mercy Hospital, when she was caused to lose her balance, slip, stumble and fall due to unreasonable accumulations of ice and snow, thereby sustaining serious and permanent injuries,” the suit says.

Duffy alleges failure on the part of the defendants to inspect, maintain or repair the parking lot, hire a snow removal company to clear the sidewalks or warn passerby of their condition, resulting in her fall.

The plaintiff is seeking damages, individually, jointly and severally in excess of $50,000, along with costs, attorney’s fees and other relief.

The plaintiff is represented by Jason E. Fine and David M. Bercovitch of J. Fine Law Group, in Philadelphia.
