PHILADELPHIA – A North Wales couple have initiated a lawsuit against a Norristown plumbing and HVAC firm after an automobile accident a year-and-a-half ago, which the plaintiffs say occurred due to the negligence of the company’s employee driver.
Denise and David Hunt of North Wales filed suit on Jan. 19 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, against Horizon Services of Norristown and its employee, Anthony Brian Chonofsky of Lansdale.
“Hunt was the owner and operator of a 2007 Ford Explorer, and Horizon Services was the owner of a 2011 Ford vehicle. Chonofsky was the operator. On June 10, 2015, on County Line Road in Warrington Township, plaintiff was stopped at a red traffic signal when the vehicle operated by defendant [Chonofsky] suddenly and without warning rear-ended plaintiff’s vehicle,” the complaint reads.
The plaintiffs claim Chonofsky’s failure to drive carefully and exercise due care under the circumstances led to the accident, from which Denise alleged she sustained back injuries.
Denise is seeking damages, jointly and severally, in excess of arbitration limits, plus interest and costs. David seeks identical damages for loss of consortium.
The plaintiffs are represented by Tyler Tomlinson of Stark & Stark, in Yardley.
