PITTSBURGH — A former employee is suing Auto System Centers Inc., d/b/a Midas Auto Service Experts, an employer, citing alleged wrongful termination.
Carl Dale Hott filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Auto System Centers Inc., d/b/a Midas Auto Service Experts, alleging that the employer terminated his employment for reporting for jury duty.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was terminated from employment for missing work to report for jury duty. The plaintiff holds Auto System Centers Inc., d/b/a Midas Auto Service Experts, responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated the plaintiff on grounds of poor performance but actually did so because of his missed work for jury duty.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment of back wages and benefits, compensatory and punitive damages, actual damages, and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Samuel J. Cordes and Nicholas K. Krakoff of Samuel J. Cordes & Associates in Pittsburgh.
