Policyholder alleges Hartford Life breached contract

Insurance 03

PHILADELPHIA — A Norristown man suing Hartford Life, alleging breach of contract.

Hau-Kay Siu filed a complaint Jan. 27 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against The Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company, alleging refusal to pay disability benefits to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, in 2013, Siu was unable to perform his work as a financial analyst due to his disability and applied for disability benefits. The suit says the benefits were approved until its termination in April 2016.

The plaintiff alleges Hartford Life terminated his disability benefits despite having sufficient medical records as proof for his claims.

Siu seeks full payment of long-term disability due, reinstatement, court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by attorney Marc H. Snyder of Rosen, Moss, Snyder & Bleefeld LLP in Jenkintown.
