Law money 12

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Sterling Credit Corporation, a debt collector, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.

Doris Warren filed a complaint on Feb. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Sterling Credit Corporation, alleging that the debt collector charged the plaintiff a "convenience fee" for paying her debt online through their website.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she sustained damages from being charged for paying online. The plaintiff holds Sterling Credit Corporation responsible because the defendant allegedly charged the plaintiff a $5 fee even though she did not agree to this collection.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices, P.C. in Philadelphia.
