Woman says Prudential Insurance Company of America wrongly denied benefits

Insurance 02

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing The Prudential Insurance Company of America, an insurance company, citing alleged breach of contract.

Sandy Lieb, also known as Sandy Lieb Lacey, filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against The Prudential Insurance Company of America alleging that the insurance company wrongly terminated her long-term disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled and was initially being paid long term disability benefits until they was suddenly terminated in 2015. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Company of America responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's disability benefits based on their claim that she no longer meet the definition of disabled according to the plan.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant ordering the plaintiff's rights to past, present and future long-term disability benefits plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Andrew S. Abramson of Abramson employment Law, LLC in Blue Bell.
