PITTSBURGH — A Mercer County woman has filed a class action lawsuit against Consumer Information Bureau, Inc., alleging violation of federal law.

Deborah A. Miller of Grove City, Pennsylvania, filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Dec. 14 in Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Consumer Information Bureau Inc., alleging the defendant wrongly says it can assist consumers in removing negative information from their credit reports.

According to the complaint, Miller sustained monetary damages from being misled into purchasing a program that promised to remove negative information about her credit report. The plaintiff alleges the defendant misleads consumers, including Miller, into believing they can scrub their credit report of any negative information.

Miller seeks trial by jury, actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, court costs and all further relief the court grants. She is represented by attorney Clayton S. Morrow of Morrow & Artim PC in Pittsburgh.
