Ticket software agency claims Philly broker owes it more than $30K in unpaid orders

Generalcourt1

PHILADELPHIA – A Connecticut-based ticket software agency claims a Philadelphia-based broker which facilitates ticket sales, owes it in excess of $30,000 for ticket orders it supposedly never paid for.

TicketNetwork of South Windsor, Conn. filed suit on Feb. 28 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, against Home & Away Entertainment, Inc. (doing business as Wanamaker Entertainment Group) of Philadelphia.

“Plaintiff is in the business of acting as an intermediary software exchange that allows for the sale and purchase of tickets online and provides customer service on its sellers’ behalf,” the lawsuit reads.

According to the complaint, between July 20, 2016 and Aug. 6, 2016, Home & Away Entertainment accepted 76 ticket orders for various events, totaling $24,936.68. The plaintiff alleges Home & Away Entertainment failed to pay on each of these orders, and that sellers are responsible for paying a four percent late charge for invoiced amounts and attorney’s fees.

Based upon that failure, the plaintiff claims they are owed $989.04 for late charges and $4,467.37 for attorney’s fees, and further, that though demand was made for payment of the total inclusive amount of $30,393.09, the defendant refused to provide any or all of that price.

The plaintiff is seeking damages of $30,393.09, plus annual interest at six percent from 30 days after each invoice date and the costs of this action, in this matter.

The plaintiff is represented by Lloyd S. Markind of Burton Neil & Associates, in West Chester.
