PITTSBURGH — A man is suing his health care providers, citing alleged violation of civil rights.

Harold J. Meltzer Jr. filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Community Human Services and Mercy Behavioral Health, alleging that they used hypnotic methods on him.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff says he was advised by an employee of Community Human Services, which operated a home for the mentally ill in which he was living, that the company had hypnotized him several times through the years. A psychiatrist at Mercy Behavioral Health and a police officer were also present at this alleged meeting.
