PHILADELPHIA — A Chester woman is suing Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Inc., citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries, liability and negligence.
Shenequa Perdue filed a complaint on March 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they manufactured a defective contraceptive treatment called Mirena and allowed consumers to use it.
According to the complaint, Perdue alleges that she sustained physical injuries from using the product. The plaintiff holds Bayer responsible because it allegedly failed to warn the public, including the plaintiff, regarding the potential health risks of using the product.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all compensatory and punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Derek T. Braslow of Pogust Braslow Millrood LLC in Conshohocken.
