SilcoTek says competitor infringed on materials patent

Patents 03

PITTSBURGH — A Pennsylvania company specializing in coating of materials is suing Advanced Materials Components Express LLC, a nearby competitor, citing alleged patent infringement.

SilcoTek Corporation, of Bellefonte, filed a complaint on April 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania alleging that the defendant, based in Tyrone, has infringed a patent currently registered to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained financial damages to its company from having its patent infringed. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly markets technology related to corrosion-resistant gas storage vessels that directly infringe a patent currently issued to the plaintiff despite being notified by the plaintiff of the infringement.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages adequate to compensate the plaintiff, court costs, injunction against the defendant and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Cecilia R. Dickson and Christian D. Ehret of The Webb Law Firm in Pittsburgh.
