Indiana man says FBCS, collection agency, misrepresented amount owed in letter

Law money 02

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing FBCS Inc., a debt collector, alleging misrepresentation in its collection efforts.

Greg Lismon of Indiana filed a complaint on May 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleging that the defendant, based in Hatboro, made misrepresentations on the collection letter it sent to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2016, he sustained damages from receiving a collection letter which included inaccurate information regarding his debt. The plaintiff holds FBCS responsible because it allegedly failed to inform the plaintiff whether the amount included in the letter was the final and fixed amount of the debt or if it would continue to accrue interest.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices P.C. in Philadelphia.
