PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing Vital Recovery Services LLC, a debt collector, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.
Sharni McIntyre filed a complaint on May 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Vital Recovery Services alleging that the Georgia-based company sent a collection letter to the plaintiff directing her to a website that asked for charges she did not agree to.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was damaged from the defendant's attempt to charge her for a collection fee. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly charged a $15 collection fee to the plaintiff for using a credit or debit card to pay the debt and $10 fee for check payments.
The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices P.C. in Philadelphia.
