CNX Gas says Noble Energy refuses to pay rig charges

Contract 02

PITTSBURGH — A Western Pennsylvania oil company is suing Noble Energy Inc., based in Houston and holding an office in Canonsburg, alleging breach of contract.

CNX Gas Company LLC filed a complaint on May 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Noble Energy alleging that it failed to pay charges stemming from its lease of an oil rig.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the company was damaged financially as the result of the breach of their agreement. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly failed to pay rig stacking and idle rig charges that were sent to it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $75,000 plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Shawna J. English of McGuire Woods LLP in Pittsburgh.
