PHILADELPHIA — A union leader is suing the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 8 and its representative Michael Barnes, Kimmel Center Inc. and Elliott-Lewis Corporation, alleging breach of duty.

Anthony Tortorice Sr. filed a complaint on June 12 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they deprived the plaintiff of his rights under their bargaining agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged from having his rights under the bargaining agreement denied. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly breached their duty to the plaintiff by denying him a fair trial and/or grievance process stemming from disputes regarding union business.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Paul A. Bucco and David S. Makara of Davis Bucco in Conshohocken.
