PHILADELPHIA – A Lewistown couple claim that the husband was burned when a heater hose on the bus he was driving ruptured.

Daniel P. Lynch and Linda S. Lynch filed a complaint on July 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against IC Bus LLC and Bergstrom Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Daniel P. Lynch was driving a school bus back to the garage on Sept. 8, 2015, when the heater hose on the bus ruptured, splashed hot liquid on him and caused severe burns to his body. The suit states the bus was manufactured by IC Bus and the heater system was manufactured by Bergstrom.

The plaintiffs hold IC Bus LLC and Bergstrom Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently or improperly designed or manufactured with a defective heater system and hoses.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000 plus court costs and interest. They are represented by Thomas K. Hooper of BMZ Law PC in Duncansville and by Stephen S. Shook in Lewistown.
