Torrado Construction Co. alleged to owe more than $60,000 for unpaid employee contributions

PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia company is alleged to have failed to pay contributions to several labor union funds.

Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1 of PA/DE, et al. filed a complaint on July 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Torrado Construction Co. Inc. and Luis Torrado, individually and as president of Torrado Construction Co. Inc. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that an audit of the defendants revealed that the defendants owe $80,535.42.

The plaintiffs seek $61,608.99 in delinquent principal contributions, $7,292.73 in interest, $9,637.70 in liquidated damages, $1,999 for audit costs, court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Robert P. Curley of O'Donoghue & O'Donoghue LLP in Philadelphia.
