Courtgavelscales565

LANCASTER – A Birdsboro man alleges a local establishment and three of its patrons are liable for negligence, assault and battery, after he was jumped by said patrons there nearly two years ago.

Ethan Snyder of Birdsboro filed suit in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas on July 18 versus Katsaros, Inc. (doing business as “Yorgos Restaurant & Lounge and/or Yorgos Café & Bar), Robert W. Supplee, Jared M. Swisher and Justin Geisenberger, also all of Lancaster.

On Oct. 12, 2015, at about 1 a.m., Snyder was a guest of Yorgos Bar, when both the individual defendants and the establishment’s bouncers allegedly assaulted him in a violent manner, punching, pulling and throwing him to the ground.

In the assault, Snyder claimed to have suffered a concussion, a broken nose, collapsed sinus cavity, injuries to his head, face, eyes and vision impairment, ears, neck, back, chest, arms, hands legs, knees and ligaments, plus neurological and emotional injuries.

According to the litigation, the defendants were negligent and remiss in hiring the staff employed on the evening in question, overserving patrons with alcohol and in not protecting the plaintiff from being assaulted while lawfully on their premises, in addition to a number of other allegations.

For counts of negligence, assault and battery against all defendants, the plaintiff is seeking damages, jointly and severally, in excess of $50,000.00, plus interest, costs and such other relief as the Court deems appropriate in this matter.

The plaintiff is represented by Michael W. Landis of Lowenthal & Abrams, in Bala Cynwyd.
