Icon Clinical Research alleges employees used confidential information to work for competitor

PHILADELPHIA – A North Wales global contract research organization alleges four North Carolina residents and former employees misappropriated confidential and proprietary information.

Icon Clinical Research LLC filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Jason Ezzelle, Jamie Sischo, Amy Mills and James Cline alleging breach of the duty of loyalty and fiduciary duty, breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants are former employees and that they "devised a scheme" to leave the plaintiff for competitor Pharm-Olam International LLC. The suit states some of the defendants emailed ICON confidential information to their personal email accounts or have failed to return their company laptops.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants; order the defendants to produce copies of all company documents and information; award actual; compensatory and punitive damages; liquidated damages; punitive damages; disgorgement; return all compensation paid to them by the plaintiff; court costs; and any further relief this court grants.
