Consumer claims DeVille Asset Management LTD's actions lowered credit score

Late 03

HARRISBURG - A Shamokin resident claims a Texas-based debt collector failed to mark an alleged debt as disputed.

Bryan Knowles filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania July 21 against DeVille Asset Management LTD, citing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he disputed an alleged debt with the defendant in July 2016 and that as of November 2016, the defendant had re-reported the debt and not marked it as disputed by the consumer.

Knowles alleges his credit score has dropped roughly 60 points because of this. He also alleges the defendant has harassed him with phone calls, despite being asked to stop calling.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Vicki Piontek in Lansdale.
