PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia man alleges a defective ramp caused him to fall.

Lisandro Ortiz filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Cequent Performance Products, doing business as Bulldog, and Camden Iron and Metal citing products liability, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 16, 2014, he was driving a forklift up a yard ramp manufactured by the defendants when the ramp collapsed, causing him injuries.

The plaintiff holds Cequent Performance Products and Camden Iron and Metal responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to remedy the defective condition of their yard ramp, steel platform and its parts in order to prevent it from collapsing while being used.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $75,000. He is represented by Brandon A. Swartz and Bryan M. Ferris of Swartz Culleton PC in Newtown.
