Methodist Home for Children alleged to have wrongfully terminated employee

PHILADELPHIA – A Drexel Hill resident alleges he was terminated by his employer because of his complaints about not receiving overtime pay.

Hoa Huynh filed a complaint on Sept. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Methodist Home for Children alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from May 2008 to June 2016 as maintenance staff. He alleges that he was terminated from his employment for complaining about not getting paid overtime wages. 

The plaintiff holds Methodist Home for Children responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's employment in retaliation for requesting to be paid for overtime wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, award of back pay to compensate him for lost wages and benefits, front pay or reinstatement, liquidated damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, court costs, interest, and any further relief the court grants.
