PHILADELPHIA – A King of Prussia student-athlete alleges the NCAA owes unpaid minimum wages to him and class members.

Lawrence "Poppy" Livers filed a complaint on behalf of himself and all other similarly situated persons on Sept. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against National Collegiate Athletic Association and several Division I member schools citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a scholarship athlete on Villanova University's football roster in the 2014-2015 year. He alleges he was a covered employee of the defendants during this time under the FLSA and that the defendants are jointly liable for unpaid minimum wages. He alleges he was not paid during this period.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages, liquidated damages in an equal amount, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Paul L. McDonald of P L McDonald Law LLC in Philadelphia.
