Consumer claims Trident Asset Management failed to report allegedly debt as disputed

Late 07

PHILADELPHIA – A Frazer woman claims a debt collector lowered her credit score because it failed to report an alleged debt as disputed.

Lisa Trotto filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Trident Asset Management LLC citing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the defendant reported an alleged debt on the plaintiff's credit report and the plaintiff disputed it via letter in September 2016. She alleges she examined her credit report the following December and found that the defendant had re-reported the debt and failed to list it as disputed by consumer.

The plaintiff holds Trident Asset Management LLC responsible because the defendant's re-reporting of the debt allegedly lowered the plaintiff's credit score.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Antranig Garibian of Garibian Law Offices PC in Philadelphia.
