MEDIA — A Chester resident filed a lawsuit June 27 in connection with an alleged dispute over his minor son's funeral services and burial.
Christopher Cobb filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against his son's mother, grandfather and step-father, Jasmine Moy, Gregory Moy and Logan White, and the Philadelphia Medical Examiner, alleging that the defendants intend to cremate the remains of the child without the consent of the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, Cobb's son died on June 22 as a result of an automobile accident, and his remains are in the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's office. Cobb claims the Moys want the body removed from the medical examiner's office for cremation.
The plaintiff said in the lawsuit that allowing this would amount to an abuse of the minor's remains and would deprive Cobb and his family members of a traditional funeral and burial and subject them to additional emotional distress.
The plaintiff seeks judgment in his favor. He is represented by Clinton Johnson of Clinton L. Johnson Law Office in Chester.
