HARRISBURG — A U.S. national is suing terrorist group Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, also known as Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, claiming that the group intentinally inflicted emotional distress on him.

Lawrence Delloye filed a complaint June 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the group caused him life threatening injuries, pain and suffering.

According to the complaint, Delloye was separated from his mother on Feb. 23, 2002 when the group allegedly forcibly detained her and held her as a hostage. Delloye said his mother was kidnapped by the group because she was running to become the president of Colombia. The plaintiff said his mother was released in 2008.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks treble damages, plus costs, attorney's fees and equitable relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Eric Zajac of Zajac & Arias Firm LLC in Philadelphia.
