Man claims Philly's Best Steak employee dropped meat on his hand

MEDIA — A man is suing Philly's Best Steak Co. Inc., citing alleged premises liability and negligence.

Nathan Owens filed a complaint in Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the restaurant owner failed to implement adequate policies for the safe handling of materials.

According to the complaint, Owens was allegedly injured on May 3, 2017 because of the carelessness of a Philly's Best employee, resulting in a left hand sprain and strain, left finger lacerations and a non-displaced fracture of his left ring finger.

Owens said the defendant should be held responsible because the employee allegedly negligently dropped a frozen slab of meat on his hand.

The plaintiff seeks a judgment against in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs and other relief. He is represented by Marc Greenfield of Spear, Greenfield, Richman, Weitz & Taggart PC in Philadelphia.
