PITTSBURGH — A former employee is suing Redstone Presbyterian Seniorcare, temporarily doing business as senior living facility Redstone Highlands, citing alleged disability discrimination, retaliation and wrongful discharge.

Colleen Saxton filed a complaint July 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that Redstone violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, Saxton was fired on Aug. 23, 2016, resulting in lost wages and benefits, loss of career opportunities, loss of future earnings, damage to her personal and professional reputation, emotional distress and embarrassment.

Saxton said the defendant allegedly subjected her to a hostile work environment because of her disability and terminated her in retaliation for filing a workers’ compensation claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, non-compensatory and punitive damages, plus court costs, pre-judgment interest and other relief. She is represented by Lawrence Kerr and Claire Throckmorton of Tremba, Kinney, Greiner & Kerr LLC in Greensburg.
