Customer blames Shoprite operator for injuries from fall

Slip01

MEDIA — A customer is suing State Road Foods LLC, doing business as Shoprite of Drexeline, citing alleged negligence.

Joseph Casterioto filed a complaint July 25 in Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the grocery store failed to keep its premises safe.

According to the complaint, Casterioto was shopping at the defendant's Drexel Hill grocery store when he allegedly slipped on a piece of onion and sustained injures.

Casterioto said the defendant should be held responsible because it allegedly failed to protect and safeguard the welfare of customers, failed to warn customers of a potential danger and failed to correct the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of $50,000, together with costs of the lawsuit and interest. He is represented by Joseph Nastasi of Nastasi Law Offices in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.
