Eckert Seamans is pleased to welcome associate Tara A. Burns to the firm’s Harrisburg office and Litigation Division. She concentrates her practice in labor and employment matters as well as business counseling and litigation. Burns represents both public and private sector employers in management-side labor and employment issues including hiring, termination, and employee discipline. She also represents employers with respect to contract negotiations, interest arbitrations, grievance arbitrations, and employment-related litigation.
Burns has professional experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance, and general business matters, including employment issues related to business transactions, nonprofit issues, and advising corporate boards of directors.
Burns earned her J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law at The Pennsylvania State University in 2017, and earned her B.S., magna cum laude, from the Seton Hall University School of Diplomacy and International Relations in 2014. She served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Christopher C. Conner of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Burns was selected to participate in the Student Honors Program at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, where she interned in the Division of Enforcement.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, Dauphin County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division, and Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division and Commission on Women in the Profession.
