MEDIA — A Ridley Park resident is suing manufacturing companies, citing alleged negligence and product liability.
Jeffrey Petherbridge filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Spectrum Brands Inc. and LOTA USA LLC, alleging the defendants designed, manufactured, distributed and sold a Pfister Pasadena Lavatory faucet in a defective condition.
According to the complaint, on May 21, 2017, after completing his property renovation with plumbing in the kitchen using defendants' Pfister Pasadena Lavatory Faucet, Petherbridge discovered defendants' products were not suitable for their intended purpose and were defective for the specific application of connecting hot and cold water hoses. As a result, plaintiff claims he sustained damage to the property that he intended to sell.
The plaintiff holds Spectrum Brands Inc. and LOTA USA LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to implement a feasible alternative to designing and testing for defective component parts, and to further design and implement certain mechanisms to prevent spontaneous broken nuts from damaging end users such as plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000 together with costs and interest. He is represented by Anthony Pinnie of Media.
