PITTSBURGH — The state attorney general has settled with a pest control company he alleged violated consumer law.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under Attorney General Josh Shapiro filed an assurance of voluntary compliance on April 16 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Aptive Environmental LLC.

According to AG Josh Shapiro's officer, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place when the defendant took place in door-to-door solicitation, failing to comply with state laws regarding peddling and solicitation. When the defendant sold its goods and services, it allegedly failed to provide their consumers with contracts, thus violating consumer protection laws.

The company agreed to pay $101,000, including $57,000 in restitution.

The defendant was accused of violation of the Consumer Protection Law.
