HARRISBURG – A federal agency alleges a Camp Hill dental practice terminated dental hygienists because of their age.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a complaint on May 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District Court of Pennsylvania against Michael A. Sisk DDS LLC, doing business as Capital City Dental Care, citing the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

The suit states that from September 2015 to November 2015, the defendant terminated eight dental hygienists who were older than 40. These employees allegedly were replaced with hygienists who were younger than 40.

The plaintiff alleges that five charging parties each had worked for the defendant for more than 10 years and all were older than 40 at the time of their termination.

The plaintiff is seeking an injunction that enjoins the defendant from engaging in employment practices that discriminates on the basis of age. The plaintiff is represented by John S. Brubaker of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Philadelphia.
