PITTSBURGH – A Georgia woman alleges she fractured her wrist while attending the 2017 Jubilee Conference at a Pittsburgh convention center because of the condition of the escalator.

Emmanuela Medina filed a complaint in June the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against SMG, doing business as David L. Lawrence Convention Center; Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh; and Allegheny County, doing business as David L. Lawrence Convention Center alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 23, 2017, the plaintiff was descending the main hall escalator at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center when it abruptly stopped, causing her to fall forward. She alleges she injured her head and fractured her left wrist in the fall and alleges the fall was caused by the escalator's dangerous and hazardous condition.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joshua P. Geist of Goodrich and Geist of Pittsburgh.
