Cintas alleges Contractor Transport only paid $10,000 of nearly $100,000 arbitration award

PITTSBURGH — A Smithton company is alleged to have failed to pay an arbitration award to an Ohio company.

Cintas Corp. filed a complaint on June 18 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Contractor Transport LLC seeking to confirm an arbitration award and enter judgment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff started arbitration proceedings against the defendant on June 22, 2018, regarding allegations of breach of contract and unjust enrichment. The parties arbitrated their dispute on March 26 and 27 and the award of arbitration in favor of the plaintiff was granted on April 18 for the amount of $99,982.01. The suit states the defendant was also ordered to pay the plaintiff an additional $2,550 to cover administrative fees.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant has only paid $10,000 of the award.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Katie R. Jacobs and Cezanne S. Harrer of Cohen and Grigsby of Pittsburgh.
