Pa. film company sued over loan

PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing a film company and a man who allegedly defrauded her by failing to pay back a loan.

Maria Gonzalez filed a complaint on July 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Jersey Style Films LLC and Nathan File.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for a loan that she issued to Jersey Style Films, of Philadelphia, in June 2015. The plaintiff allegedly loaned File $70,000 on June 6, 2015, which was to be repaid by Nov. 30, 2015. 

The defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff back in a timely manner and induced the plaintiff to lend an additional balance, bringing the total owed amount to $215,000. To date, the defendant allegedly has only paid the plaintiff $25,000.

The defendant is accused of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, conversion, and breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Samantha Green of Sidkoff, Pincus & Green PC in Philadelphia.
