FOX ROTHSCHILD LLP: Philadelphia Business Journal Names John Haggerty and Joshua Horn to “Best of the Bar” List

Award

Fox Rothschild LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.

The Philadelphia Business Journal featured John Haggerty and Joshua Horn on its highly competitive list of the top lawyers in the Greater Philadelphia Area, an accolade that underscores the firm’s reputation for excellence throughout the region.

Chosen by the business journal’s editorial board and three independent judges, the prestigious annual list recognizes attorneys in a variety of practice areas based on their recent achievements and the impact their work has had in the business community. Haggerty and Horn were named in the Business Litigation and Corporate categories, respectively.

Haggerty, co-chair of the firm’s nationwide Litigation Department, has earned a reputation for delivering stellar results in hard-fought cases. In the past year alone, Haggerty has significantly mitigated the trial exposure of a number of major companies and insurers. Most notably, Haggerty is leading the defense team for a number of distributors and pharmacies that are among the defendants named in more than 2,000 federal court cases brought on behalf of cities, counties, hospitals and union benefit funds. The historic, precedent-setting litigation is expected to be one of the largest and most complex disputes in American history, with claims valued in the hundreds of billions.

He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Temple University and his B.A., cum laude, from Franklin & Marshall College.

Co-chair of Fox’s Cannabis Law Group, Horn’s innovative corporate law practice has shaped emergent cannabis markets throughout the nation. He has helped identify and structure services for the burgeoning cannabis industry, from corporate, banking and finance advice to litigation, regulatory matters and tax guidance. He played a critical role as regulatory counsel in a deal to create the world’s largest cannabis company by revenue and the largest in the United States amongst multistate operators. Horn also formulated the integral opinion that shaped the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission’s decision to allow the launch of the first active management cannabis growth mutual fund in the United States, positioning his client to be the first to the table for this SEC request and decision, and subsequently paved the way for other industry players seeking similar growth trajectories.

He earned his J.D. from Widener University and his B.A. from Skidmore College.
