Federal Court
Walmart

PITTSBURGH – Walmart is facing a discrimination suit from a former employee who claims she had to quit due to a hostile work environment from sexual harassment.

Julia Boyer filed a complaint Dec. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Walmart Stores East LP alleging violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Boyer alleges in her suit that during her employment as a dairy associate at Walmart from Oct. 12, 2018, through March 14 that she faced a "sexually hostile work environment and ongoing gender discrimination." She claims a male co-worker would "leave his hands on the top of her breasts," kick her buttocks, send threatening text messages to her and tell co-workers she was having sex with him, among other harassment.

Boyer alleges she had to quit her job due to the hostile work environment and that Walmart failed to take action except to offer her a transfer to another store.

Boyer seeks monetary and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Michael Bruzzese in Pittsburgh.
