MEDIA - A prison facility and many of its related entities are being accused of overpopulation, causing hazardous and dangerous conditions.

Allan Royal filed his lawsuit Feb. 13 in the Court of Common Pleas in Delaware County.

Royal is suing GEO Corrections and Detention, LLC, GEO Secure Services, LLC, GEO Corrections Holdings, Inc, GEO Group, Inc. and a handful of correction officers and/or administrators at George W. Hill Correctional Facility. Their names weren’t known at the time of the filing.

He sued for negligence and alleged, “All defendants knew and/or should have known that accepting additional inmates, to the extent that the facility would become overpopulated would cause and was reasonably foreseeable to cause injuries to inmates due to the lack of usable and suitable sleeping accommodations,” according to the lawsuit.

He’s suing for damages more than $50,000, claiming that the defendants’ behavior was extensively reckless that it caused major issues for the inmates at the facility.
