PITTSBURGH - The Hotel Indigo East Liberty at 123 North Highland Ave. in Pittsburgh must answer in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas to a lawsuit filed regarding an alleged bed bug infestation.

Plaintiff Lakeshia Harrell rented a room at the Hotel Indigo on August 27, 2020, the March 26 lawsuit says. The defendants allegedly did not disclose whatsoever that the hotel was infested with bed bugs.

Harrell woke the morning after her overnight stay covered in bed bug bites, which caused her so much distress that she needed medical treatment, the suit says.

Hotel Indigo's owners, managers and operators are charged with negligence, willfulness, wantonness, callousness and recklessness, breach of contract, negligence per se and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Harrell is represented by Ryan R. Smith.
