MEDIA — A financial broker alleges he was the victim of fabricated and defamatory Google reviews from people who were never his clients.

Jason Hoffman filed a complaint Sept. 20 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Joshua Dionne and Amy Leichliter alleging defamation, libel, invasion of privacy and other claims.

Hoffman, who owns Financial Protection Services Corporation, alleges that the defendants used defamatory and untruthful statements through fabricated Google reviews resulting from a neighbor argument. Specifically, Hoffman claims on Sept. 9, 2021, through Sept. 12, 2021, the defendants wrote Google reviews alleging he "gouged" and swindled them, that he "was beyond incompetent" and that they were shocked by his behavior despite the fact he was never their broker or his clients. He further claims the bogus reviews were part of a conspiracy to defame him and put him in false light.

Hoffman seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by John Hickey of The Law Office of John Neumann Hickey in Media.
