Global law firm Reed Smith announced that Daniel Connelly has joined the firm as a partner in its Global Corporate Group, based in Philadelphia.
Connelly brings to the firm a thriving private equity and public and private mergers & acquisition practice, with a client roster that closely aligns to the firm’s existing clients. He joins Reed Smith from Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Connelly’s practice primarily centers around representing private fund sponsors and both public and private companies in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, and other associated transactions. Dan has extensive experience across a wide range of industry sectors, such as consumer products, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), diversified industrials, and aerospace and defense.

Connelly’s arrival is the latest in a series of several significant lateral joiners to Reed Smith’s global private equity and M&A practice in the over the past year, including partners Timothy Rupp and Chris Raidy in the firm’s Orange County office, partners Dr. Germar Enders and Dr. Nikolaus von Jacobs and senior counsel Christian von Sydow in Munich; and Francois Feuillat in London. The firm also recently brought on Brian Murchie as senior client development advisor for its Private Equity Group.
Connelly’s arrival is also a reflection of Reed Smith’s focus on expanding its longstanding presence Philadelphia office, particularly its transactional capabilities.

Connelly earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, magna cum laude and a B.A. from St. John’s College.
