A recent court filing has brought to light a severe negligence case involving a tenant and her landlords. Catherine Campbell filed a complaint against John Parker and Marian L. Parker in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on August 25, 2022.

The plaintiff, Catherine Campbell, who has been residing at 1608 Myer Avenue, Apartment A, McKeesport, Pennsylvania for six years, accuses her landlords, John Parker and Marian L. Parker, of gross negligence leading to significant personal injuries. According to the complaint filed by Campbell's attorney Laura R. Signorelli from Morgan & Morgan Philadelphia PLLC, the incident occurred in the bathroom of her apartment due to water leakage from a SunDome installed above the toilet.

On the fateful day of August 25th, Campbell entered her bathroom only to slip on water that had leaked onto the floor from the SunDome. This fall resulted in severe injuries including multiple bruises on her legs and arms, right shoulder pain, inability to walk properly (ambulate), severe leg pain and weakness, difficulty using her legs, numbness/tingling sensations, and shock among other musculoskeletal injuries. The lawsuit highlights that these injuries have caused Campbell great pain and suffering which has impaired her general health and vitality.

Campbell’s complaint outlines several accusations against the Parkers. She alleges that they failed to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition and allowed hazardous conditions to persist within the apartment’s bathroom. Specifically mentioned is their failure to adequately warn tenants about potential dangers such as water leakage from fixtures like the SunDome. The document states: "In failing to keep and maintain the Premises in a reasonably safe condition; In allowing...a dangerous...condition to exist on the Premises." Moreover, it is alleged that they did not take appropriate steps or precautions to remedy these unsafe conditions despite being responsible for maintenance and safety.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages exceeding arbitration limits for Allegheny County along with interest and costs of suit. Additionally, she requests any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Catherine Campbell is attorney Laura R. Signorelli from Morgan & Morgan Philadelphia PLLC while no specific defense counsel for John Parker and Marian L. Parker was mentioned in this initial filing.

The case will be presided over by judges assigned within Allegheny County's Civil Division under Case ID [not provided].
