A slip-and-fall incident at a Monroeville Wendy's has led to a lawsuit against the restaurant's parent company. Frederic Roane filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on January 20, 2025, naming Delight Restaurant Group LLC as the defendant.
The case centers around an incident that occurred on July 9, 2024, when Roane visited the Wendy's located at 3990 William Penn Highway. According to the complaint, Roane slipped on a greasy substance that had accumulated on the floor, resulting in severe and permanent injuries. The lawsuit accuses Delight Restaurant Group LLC of negligence for failing to maintain safe premises and not providing adequate warnings about potential hazards. The plaintiff claims that these failures led directly to his fall and subsequent injuries.
Roane alleges multiple instances of negligence by Delight Restaurant Group LLC. The complaint outlines several specific accusations: allowing dangerous conditions to persist without timely intervention; failing to inspect and identify potential hazards; neglecting to provide safety warnings such as wet-floor signs; and not ensuring safe passage for customers. As a result of these alleged oversights, Roane suffered from subluxations in his spine, cervicalgia, mental anguish, and other physical injuries that have impacted his daily life and earning capacity.
The plaintiff is seeking damages not exceeding $50,000 for medical expenses incurred due to his injuries and ongoing treatment needs. Additionally, he seeks compensation for lost earnings and diminished earning power caused by the accident. Roane also highlights the long-term impact on his quality of life, including loss of enjoyment in daily activities and life's pleasures.
