Zachary Vinas has taken legal action against an automotive repair business, accusing it of deceptive practices and breach of contract. On February 19, 2025, Vinas filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, against Nima Hadavi and his company Octane Fabrication Services, LLC. The complaint outlines a series of grievances related to the incomplete and substandard work performed on Vinas's vehicle.

According to the complaint, Zachary Vinas entered into a contract with Nima Hadavi on October 26, 2021, for custom fabrication work on his 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The agreed-upon price was $8,215.31 for parts and labor. Vinas alleges that he paid $6,200 as part of this agreement but did not receive the promised services. Instead, he claims that Hadavi engaged in deceitful practices over three years by relocating his shop without notice and falsely representing the progress of the work.

Vinas's allegations are serious: he accuses Hadavi of misrepresenting the purchase and installation of parts and damaging his vehicle during the process. Furthermore, Vinas states that despite repeated assurances from Hadavi that the work would be completed promptly, these promises were never fulfilled. The plaintiff also highlights how attempts to retrieve his vehicle were thwarted by obstructive behavior from Hadavi.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for monetary damages totaling $15,742.67—this includes both direct payments made under the contract and additional costs incurred due to damage and delays caused by Hadavi's actions. Additionally, Vinas is pursuing statutory treble damages under Pennsylvania’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL), which could increase potential compensation to $47,228.01 if successful.

Representing Zachary Vinas is attorney Kevin L. Colosimo from Frost Brown Todd LLP. The case has been assigned an arbitration docket number  AR25001523.
