WASHINGTON – Subsequent to the American Law Institute’s approval of a Restatement for law related to Consumer Contracts earlier this week, two of the group’s members expressed concerns that the document may be a step in the wrong direction for the legacy of the venerable legal scholarship group.
WASHINGTON – At its annual meeting this week, the Philadelphia-based American Law Institute voted to approve a Restatement intended to give legal clarity to consumer contracts – a project which has been subject to controversy, since its foundation is said to diverge from established contract law in some respects.
ALLENTOWN – A federal judge has sanctioned plaintiff counsel in an Easton couple’s product liability case against the Sherwin-Williams paint company, finding that said counsel was responsible for the dissemination of the company’s confidential trade secrets in filings associated with the case.

ALLENTOWN – A federal judge has dismissed litigation brought by a legal group and two law firms against TD Bank, which claimed that the bank was negligent and should have detected that the plaintiff’s employee had embezzled funds and deposited those funds at the bank.
PHILADELPHIA – A federal discrimination case brought by two retired NFL players against the league, claiming that it manipulated cognitive function data to make it less likely Black players would receive proceeds from the 2016 concussion settlement, has been resolved.
