PITTSBURGH – A police chief and one of his officers want to be dismissed from a lawsuit filed by a Vandergrift Borough Council member, alleging a conspiracy-based campaign of defamation and slander undertaken by a number of borough officials was intended to drive her out of office.

PHILADELPHIA – A trio of judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit bench have upheld the granting of summary judgment to the U.S. government in its second litigation against a farmer who allegedly violated the Clean Water Act, finding that defense counsel’s repeated procedural violations called for such a sanction.
PITTSBURGH – A senior citizen has brought suit against a Pittsburgh bank, which she claims failed to protect her and her sizable accounts from fraud and resulted in her losing millions of dollars to con artists.
PITTSBURGH – A wrongful termination suit from a man who claims he was fired from a water and sewer authority when he refused to dump raw sewage into the Monongahela River has settled litigation with the West Elizabeth Sanitary Authority and other entities.
LANCASTER -- A woman claims suffering after a soda machine part that houses the ice allegedly crashed on top of her head and face, knocking her glasses off.
PITTSBURGH – Mount Pleasant’s former police chief says the Borough’s motion for summary judgment seeking to throw out his wrongful termination case, is ill-supported and its substance has no connection to the events that the complaint addresses.
SCRANTON – The Borough of Dalton is attempting to strike a $5.7 million judgment declared in favor of a local property owner – who claimed it committed ongoing misconduct and trespass in its refusal to provide catch basins for 21 years, which has caused her property to suffer tremendous flooding.
PITTSBURGH – Attorneys for a local equipment rental company have countered a man’s lawsuit alleging serious injuries from a defective scaffold leased to his employer, by arguing that the fault instead belongs to its co-defendants, a pair of Western Pennsylvania property owners.
