A Florida woman is suing a Bucks County-based FedEx over a fall reportedly caused by a box left negligently in the doorway of a home in Feasterville, Pa.
Beverly Sands filed a lawsuit Aug. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Bensalem-based Federal Ground Package System Inc. – or FedEx – seeking compensation for severe physical pain, mental anguish and humiliation from a fall caused by the asserted negligently left box.
A FedEx employee, on or about June 13, 2013, the claim states, placed a large package at the doorway of the home without properly notifying Sands of the delivery or its close proximity to the door. On or about Aug. 28, 2013, Sands, returning from Florida, was injured when she came in contact with a package that was left by the door.
She is seeking compensation for receiving and having to undergo medical attention and care. And as a further result of the accident, she has or may hereafter suffer a severe loss of earnings and impairment of earning power capacity. Sands is being represented by Philadelphia-based attorney Keith W. Kokfsy of Clearfield and Kosky.
