A Chadds Ford company is suing their former business partner over copyright infringement claims.
Mattern & Associates LLC filed a lawsuit Oct. 13 in Pennsylvania District Court against T. & G. Industries Inc., doing business as TGI Office Automations Inc., claiming the company illegally used copyrighted material for their own profit.
According to the complaint, Mattern claims it entered into business relationship with a company that was soon purchased by TGI. Mattern alleges TGI then used copyrighted work for its own profit.
Mattern is requesting TGI be restrained from using the work for profit as well as be compensated for damages of the infringement. Mattern also requests damages and lost profits, punitive damages, and be awarded the greater of three times TGI's profits. Mattern is represented by John D. Simmons and Bridget H. Labutta of Panitch, Schwarze, Belisario, & Nadel LLP in Philadelphia.
